My experiences as a highly successful HSE Executive, Pilot, Student of Martial Arts, Rock Climber and Community Leader, give me a unique perspective on making a difference in people’s lives. I am passionate about sharing messages on this theme with audiences.
The nearly 3 decades of practice I have working in occupational safety, much of it in high hazard industries, has taught me much about leading people to be safe and successful at work. My effort in this environment, and education background in Industrial Psychology, have convinced me it is possible to thrive in high risk environments. I enjoy imparting these lessons to the audience.
I have learned many important life lessons from my personal interests as well. The discipline and decision making required for flying demonstrates the power of those characteristics in all phases of life. The focus on rigorous self improvement, mindfulness and physical conditioning from martial arts are other important skills. From rock climbing the lessons of risk management, physical toughness and the appreciation of our natural world were obtained.
I bring energy, insight and a little humor to my conversations with attendees. My goal with each talk is to leave them with a deeper understanding and a clear action they can take to make the world better place.

I am also an instrument rated private pilot with experience not only as the pilot in command but also in the manufacture of aircraft and aerospace equipment. I have studied and participated in aviation safety extensively and enjoy drawing important learnings from the field that can be applied to other aspects of the working environment.
My speaking experience has been at the national level since 2002 with frequent engagements for the annual conferences of the American Society of Safety Professionals, Voluntary Protection Program Participants Association, the National Safety Council and many client organizations.
